Show at UVAS: Students get a closer look at snakes

LAHORE: Different species of non-venomous and venomous snakes, including krate, viper, black cobra, red spotted, boa and Indian rock python, were put on display at a snake show at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Thursday. The UVAS Pet Centre organised the snake show and live demonstrations at its Lahore city campus, where Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf inaugurated the exhibition. The purpose of the show was to impart knowledge and information especially among the young veterinary students about this unique creature of nature. Dr Asim Khalid and Imran Mumtaz gave demonstrations to visitors about each species of snakes, their qualities, habitat and feeding habits. Veterinary Science Dean Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, Dr Asim Khalid, Dr Uzma Durrani, renowned snake handler Imran Mumtaz and a large number of students and faculty members attended the event.
