Aleena Raza, creative head of the luxury prêt label, Charme by So Kamal, and her brother Asad Kamal, student at Northeastern University, share their bond. From sharing a room together as children to calling hotel security randomly in Paris, these siblings come clean about it all
What is your first memory of each other?
Aleena: When my parents brought my brother home for the first time and told me that I have to share my room with him.
Asad: Coming back from school as children and negotiating daily about “TV chaiye ya bed?”
What is the craziest thing you have done together?
Aleena: While we were in Paris, we called hotel security in the middle of the night for no reason.
Asad: Aleena called hotel security in Paris. To this day I don’t know why!
What did you get punished for the most as a child?
Aleena: I never got punished!
Asad: For always breaking stuff accidentally.
If you could only wear one piece of clothing for the rest of your life, from the others closet, what would it be?
Aleena: Asad’s favourite blue jacket.
Asad: Her Dolce & Gabbana track pants.
If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would do?
Aleena: Go have fun in Boston!
Asad: I would try to do Aleena’s signature pout.
What is the one thing you love about your sibling?
Aleena: I love that Asad is very caring.
Asad: Her patience.
If you are fighting with each other, how do you make up?
Aleena: After a while, I forget that I was ever fighting with him.
Asad: I have to go and make it up to her.
What is the one secret talent your sibling has, that you wish you had too?
Aleena: He speaks his mind.
Asad: Her commitment to everything that she does.
Describe your sibling in three words:
Aleena: Friendly, fun and strong.
Asad: Classy, beautiful and hardworking.
Which fictional character is your sibling most like?
Aleena: Simba from The Lion King.
Asad: Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl.
How are your personalities similar?
Aleena: They are not similar.
Asad: They aren’t similar at all!
I can’t live without my brother/sister because…
Aleena: Because I only have one brother and I love him dearly.
Asad: Because I only have one sister and I love her equally as much.
