Property dispute: 12 hurt as two rival groups clash

Seven killed in different road accidents across district

FAISALABAD: At least 12 people received bullet injuries during an armed clash between two rival groups over a property dispute in the area of Tandlianwala police station.

DSP Tandlianwala said Ziaullah Rehmani group and Chaudhry Saeed group exchanged fire with each other over a property dispute in Mai Chowk. During the shoot-out, 12 persons from both groups, including Shaheer Dawood, Muhammad Rehman, Muhammad Nadeem and others suffered bullet injuries and were shifted to the local hospital.

However, the police reached the spot and controlled the situation.

The police have registered a case against those involved in the incident.

Road accidents

At least seven people were killed while several others were injured in different incidents in Faisalabad on Monday.

A police spokesperson said 17-year-old Chand, a resident of D-Type Colony, was killed when his motorcycle hit another motorcycle near Mandi Morr.

In yet another accident, Muhammad Idrees, 25, a resident of Khushab, Abdul Majeed, 40, a resident of Noorpur Thal, and 22-year-old Anmol, a resident of Sammundri Road, were killed when their vehicle smashed into a van.

Similarly, Imran, Ghulam Rasool, Nauman, Hamza, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Ashraf, Sidra, Nabeela and Abbas were injured in different road accidents and admitted to local hospitals for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, bodies of three unidentified people were recovered from Ehsan Colony, People’s Colony and Sheranwala Chowk. The police shifted the bodies to the hospital for legal formalities.
