KARACHI:
This year’s Academy Awards exhibited nothing different in terms of décor, the order of events and a star-studded bash. But what we did notice was how Hollywood A-listers got past all their previous fashion glitches and aced their looks on the red carpet. Jessica Biel, Chrissy Teigen and Dakota Johnson sparkled in their metallic long-sleeved, high necked gowns as they walked the Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Biel’s husband, Justin Timberlake, was in the spotlight at the Oscars, opening the show with his hit single Can’t Stop the Feeling, but it was the female half of that relationship who killed it on the red carpet. Her full-length gold Kaufman Franco gown gleamed like a statuette and stood out from the crowd as she posed up a storm for the cameras. The stylish number was adorned with sequins and crystals. The dress featured a metallic collar formed in strips of gold that fanned out like feathers – reminding us of Cleopatra. This, coupled with a neat hair bun made her look picture perfect.

Did she know she was going to win Best Actress for La La Land? Her showstopper gold shimmering gown did make us feel that way. The best of her red carpet appearances to date Emma opted for a metallic shade for her fringed flapper-style custom-made Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown. Needless to say, she looked every bit a princess.

The Fifty Shades of Grey starlet sparked blissfully in a Gucci champagne satin long sleeve high neck gown. The dress accentuated her fit frame as it cinched to her waist and then fell loose to the ground. The big bow and pleated bodice added drama to her look. A gold Gucci clutch and half-tied hair completed her look.
