Cardiac arrest: GBLA member Ali Sheikh dies

GILGIT: Muhammad Ali Sheikh, a lawmaker in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, died on Sunday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest.

According to his relatives, the 50-year-old was rushed to a local hospital in Danyor after suffering the heart attack where he breathed his last.

Sheikh represented the GBLA-4 Hunza-Nagar-I constituency in the Nagar district of G-B. He was a senior member of Islami Tehreek Pakistan.

His funeral prayers were offered at the main Imamia Mosque. G-B Governor Mir Ghazanfar Ali, GBLA Speaker Fida Nashad, along with a number of lawmakers, civil and military officials participated in the funeral.
