MANSEHRA: The Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has warned the federal government against amending the blasphemy law, noting that if it ever did, the party would sacrifice ‘everything’ and launch an agitation against the government.

Addressing participants of a Tahafuz Namoos-e-Risalat conference on Friday,  Maulana Amjad Khan Lahori,  the acting general secretary JUI-F, said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must unequivocally clarify his position on this crucial issue that the government was not mulling any plans to amend the blasphemy law.

“We will not compromise on this issue nor accept clarifications from others,” he said, adding that the premier was bound to end speculations on the matter since the JUI-F would not accept any changes or amendment to this law.
