Lyari group: Peoples Amn Committee to shut offices

PAC will shut its 350 offices across Sindh and Balochistan.

KARACHI:
The Peoples Amn Committee (PAC) will shut its 350 offices across Sindh and Balochistan, it announced at Football House in Chakiwara, Lyari Wednesday.

The PAC’s Shakeeb Ahmed Baloch said the decision has been “in the pipeline for a long time.” It came after the president met a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday. The MQM calls the PAC a “criminal organisation”.

The PAC’s Habib Hassan said that what mattered was that “the PPP owned [them] after a long time of denying [their] existence. That is enough.” Baloch said that home minister Zulfiqar Mirza and MNA Qadir Patel had been kept in the loop. “It was on their orders that we moved back. We had already left it in their hands.”
