KARACHI:

Opener Khurram Manzoor’s century cemented his team’s position against Balochistan on the second day of the Pentangular Cup final, as Sindh gained a 182-run lead after finishing at 481 for eight.

Resuming on 65 for one, Sindh found themselves tottering at 75 for three before a 185-run partnership between Manzoor and Faisal Iqbal (77) put them on top. Manzoor made 144, with 25 hits to the fence. Fawad Alam was the other notable contributor with 85. Significant lower-order knocks by wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed (60*) and Danish Kaneria (33) ensured that the Balochistan bowlers toiled throughout the day.

Mohammad Sami will accompany Sarfraz at the crease today, as Sindh try to maximise their lead.

The only highlight for Balochistan was fast-bowler Abdur Rauf, who claimed four wickets while Mohammad Irfan finished with a couple.
