Unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle threw explosives near Naya Pull, police say

HYDERABAD: At least 16 people were injured in an explosion in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Talking to the media at the site of the explosion, Hyderabad SSP Irfan Baloch said unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle hurled the explosives from above Abdul Wahab Shah Jilani Flyover on the shops under the bridge and escaped.

“It was a small explosive device containing ball bearings,” he said. The attack is linked with JSMM's strike on February 20, the SSP added.

Last year on August 14, the same place was attacked with an explosive device.

Meanwhile, in charge bomb disposal squad Ramzan Panhwar said pellets were used in the explosives, which weighed about 10 grams.

The injured, including Atif Ali, Manzoor Khan, Moiz, Waleed Khan and Abdul Waheed, were shifted to Civil Hospital, Hyderabad
