LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has declared Chaudhry Moonis Elahi’s answers to questions about the National Insurance Company (NICL) scandal unsatisfactory and incomplete and summoned the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader again to provide the missing information, The Express Tribune has learnt.

Elahi went to the FIA office on Tuesday and handed FIA Additional Director-General Zafar Qureshi, who heads the team investigating the NICL case, his answers to a list of questions issued by the agency at a previous appearance.

Sources said that Elahi had not answered the questions with the required details and specific information sought by the investigators was missing. They said he had been summoned to the FIA office again for Wednesday to submit more comprehensive responses.

After appearing before the investigators, Elahi told reporters that they had sought details about utility bills and the serial numbers on electricity, water and gas meters. He said he would provide the answers on Wednesday.
