Wind Power: 3 projects to start running by mid-2017

Three more wind power projects of 100MW each have already been completed and they are producing energy

ISLAMABAD: Three wind power projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with installed capacity of 200MW will start commercial operation by mid of the current year. Sources in the Ministry of Planning suggested that the 50MW Hydro China Dawood wind power project is expected to be completed by next month whereas UEP Wind Power project with installed capacity of 99MW is likely to be completed by September, 2017. Similarly, the commercial operation date of the 50MW Sachal Energy Development Wind Project is set at June, 2017. The Three Gorges Wind Farm Pakistan project with installed capacity of 100MW however is likely to be completed by September2018. Three more wind power projects of 100MW each have already been completed and they are producing energy, the sources said.
