Work for betterment and promotion of railways was being carried out across the country

The Raiwind City railway station will be completed by February 2018 at a cost of about Rs135 million. This was said by Pakistan Railways CEO Javed Anawar said at the ground-breaking ceremony on Saturday of the project, where Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and religious leader Maulana Tariq Jameel were also present. Saad said the construction of the Raiwind railway station would not only facilitate those coming for the annual religious congregation of the Tableeghi Jamaat but also the citizens at large. A ticket reservation office will also be built at the Raiwind railway station. About 3.5 years ago, the minister said, railways department was in a poor condition, but now the services were improving. Highlighting the improvement at the railways, Saad said e-ticketing service had been introduced, pension payment had been automated, 90% computerisation of railway land had been completed and 80% trains were now punctual. The minister said that railway stations were being constructed in Sibbi and Harnai, and the Kohat railway station was also being improved. Work for betterment and promotion of railways was being carried out across the country.
