Deputy director education FATA abducted

The police has yet to register an FIR against the suspects

LAKKI MARWAT: Unidentified gunmen abducted the Deputy Director of Education FATA, Muhibullah Dawar, from a local hotel on Saturday morning, said the district police officer.

Addressing the media in his office, the official added that the incident took place when the deputy director stopped at Kaliwal Hotel.

The said hotel lies on the outskirts of the district, touching the Indus highway - within the jurisdiction of the Tajori police station. The police has yet to register an FIR against the suspects. According to officials, a search operation is underway and security has been beefed-up at the entrance and exit of the district.

Last year, masked men kidnapped the son of Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Awais Shah, from outside a supermarket in the city. He was found in Tank, which lies close to the tribal region bordering Afghanistan where the military has been battling the Taliban.
