Balochistan incident: 12 people killed in road accidents

Four of the same family died in a crash when a bus fell on their car in Mastung district

At least 12 people were killed and eight others sustained injuries in three separate road accidents that took place in Mastung, Kalat and Saranan areas of Balochistan on Friday.

In the first incident, four members of a family, including a woman, were crushed to death when a passenger bus fell on their car near Surgaz area of Mastung district.

According to Levies sources, the car was on its way to Kirdgab from Quetta when a bus coming from the opposite direction fell on it, near Surgaz area, killing all of the passengers in the car. The bodies were shifted to District Hospital Mastung and were later handed over to the heirs. The deceased were identified as Sawal Khan, Abdul Razzak, Zakir Shah and Frida Bibi.


The second incident occurred when a truck hit a passenger wagon near Surab area of Kalat district. As result of collision, six passengers travelling in the wagon died on the spot and four others sustained serious injuries. The injured and the deceased were shifted to the government hospital in Surab. The deceased were identified as Ali Saleem, Syed Muhammad Asif, Mula Bakhsh, Muhammad Ilyas, Haq Nawaz and Abdullah.

Meanwhile, two women were killed and four others injured when a truck hit a car near Saranan area of Qila Abdullah district on Friday. Levies officials said that a car carrying six people was on its way to Quetta, coming from Chaman when it was hit by a truck near Saranan area.

Two women travelling in the car died on the spot, while four others sustained injuries. The injured and the deceased were shifted to district hospital Qila Abdullah. Levies registered a case against the truck driver and investigations are under way.
