Pir practice: ‘A haircut and a cure for cancer on the side’

KHANEWAL: A local barber turned pir has gained fame for ‘treating’ terminal diseases like cancer and hepatitis by cutting patients with a blade after giving them a haircut.

Khanewal’s chak 72-15L resident Sajid alias ‘Sajja’ has been running a barber shop for three years and recently began to ‘treat’ his customers for ailments by cutting them with a blade.

Sajja first trims his customers’ hair and shaves their beard and then ‘treats’ their ailments by cutting other parts of their body.

“I came to him several months ago for a shave but while he was trimming my beard I told him about how I had developed a heart condition. He told me he could cure me,” Masood said, adding “I have begun feeling a lot better since he has begun the treatment.”

Several of Sajja’s clients claim that he has cured people of terminal heart diseases, hepatitis and cancer by cutting them. Local administration and journalists have repeatedly informed the Health Department and police about the situation but no action has been taken in this regard.

Sajja said “I am frequently visited by a fairy named Bano who got her medical degree from Austraila. She tells me how to help these sick people.”
