LAHORE: To strengthen research and industry-academia linkages, the Punjab University has appointed Polymer Engineering and Technology Department Chairman Dr Tahir Jamil as the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC) director.

The appointment comes from Vice- Chancellor Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir with an aim to promote research products of the university in the market and streamline industry-academia linkages as per international standards, a press release issued on Sunday stated.

Dr Tahir graduated from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad and did his PhD from New York in 1986.

He has worked in the US, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
