Police said advocates Irfan Khokhar and Afzal were shot dead by Muhammad Bilal, who barged into their house and opened fire. The suspect is on the run.
Officials believed the murder stemmed from the possession of a 2.5 marla house near Jia Musa where Irfan was living.
On Saturday, Bilal came armed to the place and started quarrelling with the victims. After an exchange of some hot words, he took out his gun and shot at the victims, injuring both of them critically.
The injured men were shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival. Police have moved the bodies to a morgue till investigations are completed.
The Shahdara SHO said police were investigating the matter and had yet to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Police encounter
In Manawan, the CIA police killed four suspects said to be involved in a kidnapping-cum-murder case of a Class-IX student a year ago.
Police said the suspects – Abdul Sattar alias Nanha, Babar Nadeem, Muhammad Azam and Muhammad Ejaz, all residents of Faisalabad – were accused of kidnapping Aman Qamar, who lived in Samanabad, Lahore.
The abducted boy was taken to Faisalabad and Rs3 million were demanded from his family in ransom. While the family paid the ransom, the kidnappers murdered the victim and buried his body on their land. A case (406/16) under murder and kidnapping charges was registered against the suspects with Samanabad police on the complaint of the boy’s father.
The suspects were arrested while the body as well as the ransom money was also recovered from them. They men were on physical remand with the police for investigation.
A police spokesperson said the suspects had disclosed about a snatched motorcycle that they had buried in a piece of land near Dera Haji Iqbal at Muza Awan Dhai, Manawan.
When a police team was returning with the recovered vehicle (FSD-15/2374), five suspects attacked the law enforcers apparently to get the arrested men released. In the ensuing encounter, police managed to thwart the attackers but the detained suspects were all killed.
Extra contingents of police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to search for the suspects. The bodies were shifted to hospital while forensic evidence from the crime scene was collected.
Another shoot-out

The victim called the police helpline and police parties on patrol were alerted. Hair police signalled three men coming on a CG-125 Honda motorcycle to stop but they opened fire at the law enforcers.
Police said one suspect was killed in the shoot-out while the two others fled the scene under the cover of fire. A case (62/17) was registered against the suspects at the Hair police station.
