In order to improve and upgrade rescue and emergency services with follow-up treatment, the private health facility First Aid Unit (FAU), and Rescue 1122 have teamed up.
A launch-cum-awareness ceremony was held at the FAU office in Jinnahbad and attended by officials of Rescue 1122, doctors and notables of the area.
The medical and emergency team of Rescue 1122 and FAU also tested their skills through a mock demonstration.
Briefing the audience about the need for emergency and follow up treatment in Abbottaabd, FAU Chief Executive Dr Ahsan Naveed Irfan narrated his reasons and motivation to establish such a service.
He pointed out that his late father Dr Naveed Irfan, a professor of psychiatry, had suffered a minor cardiac attack on April 30, 2015.
Dr Ahsan said emergency staff at Ayub Medical Complex lacked basic medical necessities such as oxygen and painkillers. He said the casualty department of the biggest hospital in Hazara Division was short of both, and after 15 minutes, in which immediate action could have saved his father’s life, he was moved to the CCU, but it was too late and he died soon after.
