12 people injured in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Twelve people were injured in an acid attack, the result of a family dispute in Jareel Shah Colony near Tandu Mir Mehmood on Thursday.

The local police station has registered a case and arrested two men accused of the attack. According to one of the injured men, Mohammad Sultan, both his sisters are married to two brothers namely Ramzan and Shahzad. The sisters left their husbands after the men beat them up. Sultan said he was married to the sister of the two brother. When his sisters came back, his wife started to pressurise him into sending the women back to their husbands.

The families got into a fight on Wednesday night initially and on Thursday morning the two husbands, with help from their two brothers and father, attacked Bilal, brother of the estranged women and of Sultan. Sultan said that when he and his family reached the site to save Bilal, the husbands threw acid on them injuring ten people with burns. Two others were seriously injured as a result of being beaten with iron rods. The victims were taken to civil hospital.The police have registered a case of attempted murder against the four brothers.
