LAHORE: Chairman of executive committee of the Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) has declared order of the PbBC executive committee members for restoration of practice licence of an advocate for misbehaving with a judge as illegal.

Chairman Syed Azmat Ali Bukhari, in his four-page order, also suspended practice licence of the accused advocate Rana Saeed.

The chairman said the PbBC’s executive committee had no power to pass the order for restoration of the practice licence of the advocate which was already suspended by the Lahore High Court.

He added the committee had no authority to reject the complaint or to make any order in this regard but it passed an illegal order on October 8, 2016 and restored the licence.

The chairman referred the matter to the disciplinary committee of the PbBC and said that the practice licence of Rana Saeed Advocate will remain suspended and all concerned quarters should be informed accordingly.
