A convoy of Mohmand Rifles was on its way to Peshawar from the Mohmand tribal area when it was hit by the remote-controlled device on the outskirts of the city.
An eyewitness told The Express Tribune that traffic was moving slowly at the time of the blast due to heavy fog.
“Three FC men and six civilians were injured,” said a local police official. “An improvised explosive device weighing five kilograms was planted by the roadside,” he added.
Police rushed to the site of the blast and cordoned off the entire area.
