We're no strangers to the witty lyrics and creative videos unique to  Shehzad Roy.

The singer has had Pakistan in fits time and again with hits such as Saali Tu Maani Nahin and Laga Re. This time around, he has tapped into what can only be described as a national obsession: cricket. Following the passage of nearly a year, Shehzad has resurfaced with De Maar Saare Chaar -- another catchy soundtrack of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The video of the song is a riot of colour, commencing with shots of cricket fans sporting the national flag and a bat reading 'Ballay Ballay'. Shehzad is then seen in a series of situations: from cooking at home to working out at the gym, playing cricket on the streets to performing live there. What remains ubiquitous is the love for cricket. As the singer muses in the opening lines, "Cricket ke fans barre hain…"

What makes De Maar Saare Chaar stand out is how it incorporates major social and pop culture references. "Halka haath rakha tau dikh jaaye ga, yeh lawn ki sale nahin ke kuch bhi bikh jaaye ga," sings Shehzad at one point, taking a dig at the fashion frenzy overtaking society. The Mannequin Challenge phenomenon is also addressed, with many of the characters 'freezing' in tension over the cricket matches.
