Maya Ali to star in Ali Zafar's Pakistani film debut

The upcoming romantic comedy is being helmed by Ahsan Rahim

KARACHI: After much debate and deliberation, the makers of Ali Zafar's highly-anticipated Pakistani film debut have finally decided on who is to play his leading lady and it's none other than Mann Mayal actor, Maya Ali.

The actor broke the news of her casting on Friday, over her social media accounts which cater to over 1.5 million fans, stated a press release.

Maya made the announcement by posting a video of a rather sultry image of herself with Ali, holding her own copy of the script of the film, which has been titled Teefa in Trouble.



The booklet also had a light-hearted note signed off by the film's director Ahsan Rahim, urging Maya to "Kindly stop training." Last week, Ahsan sent Ali a copy saying "Kindly start training."

The upcoming romantic comedy is being helmed by Rahim and produced by Zafar's production house, Ligthingale Productions. Ahsan - known for making ground-breaking music videos and defining a new style in the world of advertising - will be making his first foray into cinema with Teefa in Trouble. The film will also mark Maya's debut on the big screen.
