Livelihood: 236 women given vocational training  

Providing vocational training opportunities to women deprived of resources was a welcome initiative

FAISALABAD: Around 137 women have been given training on beautician techniques and another 99 in stitching in Faisalabad in three months.

The women were awarded certificates on Tuesday by Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani.

While speaking at the event held in Shahbaz Nagar, Chak No 8 under the aegis of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), he said providing vocational training opportunities to women deprived of resources was a welcome initiative for their welfare as women would be able to earn their livelihood after getting training in different trades.

He added that the government had given security to the female population by passing women protection bill and legislation for providing justice to victim women is in pipeline. Farukh Hameed of Kalash Group said women were also provided stipends during training at the centre.
