The kids on a sugar rush

Brownies, cookies, ice cream, waffles; you name it, the food festival had it. This might have appeased those with a serious sweet tooth but many parents realised too late the perils of too much sugar. Their hyped up offspring ran from pillar to post, bouncing and skipping as they went, their harried parents or maids in tow.

The connoisseurs

Move over MasterChef, these festival goers are the true judges of gastronomic excellence. These foodies can be seen examining their food and snapping a quick picture for their upcoming Facebook review.

The budding fashionistas

It may not be fashion week, but that didn’t stop some fashion mavens from strutting their stuff. High-heels, chunky necklaces, funky scarves and chokers were on display because fashion never stops and neither do they.

The overdressed and overheated

It might have been chilly the day before but the second day of the festival was held with the Karachi sun out in full force in the afternoon, leaving the warmly dressed attendees sweaty and overheated.

The ones in a food coma

Too. Much. Food. With so many options to choose from, many people decided to go with the mantra ‘when in doubt, do it’ and ended up needing a long nap or a short jog.

The bench warmers

One of the hottest commodities at the festival was a seat. Most groups had a designated member to save their seats, usually an older relative who was tired of making endless rounds of the Frere Hall garden anyway.

The moochers

Hey, can I have a bite? A sip? A piece? These people know the way to get the most bang for their buck - eating off other people’s plates. An ingenious way of trying everything without emptying your wallet or filling your stomach, these festival goers are the cleverest of them all.

The trend followers

Bottle flipping? Dabbing? The mannequin challenge? Well these festival goers are ready to try all these popular trends. Who knows, maybe it’ll make them Instagram famous?
