ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Thursday claimed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz has been forcing PML-N leaders to abuse him in public.
“Maryam Nawaz gives PML-N leaders incentives to abuse me and she also threatens them if they don’t do so,” the PTI chief said while addressing media after Panamagate proceedings.
Imran further said maligning him before the media will not help save the premier in the Supreme Court. “PML-N leaders think by labelling me as a dishonest man, they can save Nawaz Sharif from accountability,” he added.
“It is PML-N’s habit to accuse other political parties of corruption in order to blackmail them.”
Responding to a question regarding PML-N leaders’ request to stop commenting on SC proceedings, Imran said, “Calling a thief a thief or a corrupt man, corrupt is not wrong”.
“A man who comes into power with one factory and multiplies it into 30 factories, is nothing but corrupt,” he added.
PML-N leaders demand ban on political commentary on Panamagate case hearing
Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz leaders on Thursday demanded a ban on commentary before the media regarding the Panamagate case hearing.
“It is a matter which is being dealt by the top court, then why is it being discussed with the media,” Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique questioned.
“Remarks of SC and honourable judges are being twisted by our political opponents. Is this right according to the Constitution?” he added.
