Strict vigilance: CDA acts against tardiness, truancy of employees

Senior officials served show-cause notices

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) managers have initiated action against tardiness and truancy in the organisation.

The CDA Directorate of Information Technology has generated data regarding latecomers and absent employees. The data contains names, designations, departments, basic pay scales and employee numbers. The data further contains the number days of employees when they were absent. The percentage of user count, presence, early left and late off employees is also part of the data. The data has been generated for months of November and December 2016.

The HRD deputy director general, law deputy director general, public relations director, architecture director, planning deputy director general and housing societies director have been directed to submit their replies.

The enforcement director, land and rehabilitation director, security director, sports and culture deputy director, and the treasury division drawing and disbursing officer have also been directed to submit replies regarding tardiness and absence. They have seven days to do so or face punitive action.

CDA Administration Member Muhammad Yasir Pirzada issued a circular on Wednesday through which Islamabad Mayor and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz has directed that action be taken against errant employees.

Pirzada’s circular tells all CDA directorates to inform about actions taken against the habitual delinquents and to submit their replies within seven days.

Meanwhile, the mayor has also constituted a task force to act against encroachments in Islamabad. Following his directions, the task force has started taking action against illegal encroachments in
the city.

As per the plan of action, the DMA task force has made announcements through loudspeakers in various parts of the city. The announcements warned encroachers to voluntarily address their violations. As part of the plan of action, illegal fruit stalls have been removed from Sector G-9, G-10, and G-11.

The Directorate of Municipal Administration also issued notices to different violators.

Along with issuance of notices, the DMA task force has imposed fines totalling Rs80,000 on violators in different areas of Islamabad.
