ISLAMABAD: Just days after case of a tortured child maid surfaced, another case has been reported in Lahore.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took notice of nine-year-old maid being allegedly tortured in Lahore.

The statement issued states that the lady employer in Lahore burnt the hands of maid until her flesh peeled off.

As per reports, the local police hushed up the case and pressured the family of the minor to forgive the influential accused lady.

Taking cognisance of the matter, chief justice has directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police to submit a detailed report on the matter within three days.

According to details, A*, a resident of Vehari worked as a maid in a house in Defence Phase V.

She was reportedly tortured by the owner of the house when she mistakenly broke a windowpane.

Report shines grisly light on child maid torture

Meanwhile, the chief justice also took cognisance of fraud in fixing stents in cardiac patients during heart surgeries.

The action was taken on reports that few hospitals including Cardiac Ward of Meo Hospital in Lahore and other government-run hospitals.

The report states that according to the spokesperson office hospitals in Lahore are either putting stents in cardiac patients unnecessarily or charging patients at exorbitant rate up to Rs180,000 for each stent.

Nomi | 7 years ago | Reply Why is this really so difficult to name and shame such so called "influential"? I am a liberal but I guess if this was done by any religious preacher then we should have known his name by now.
