Iqbal in the lead on day two
Pakistan’s top golfer finishes day with aggregate score of eight-under-par 136
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s top golfer Shabbir Iqbal of the Islamabad Golf Club (IGC) led the professionals’ category on the second day of the 6th Rashid D Habib National Professional Golf tournament at the Karachi Golf Club on Sunday.
Pakistan’s number one golfer Iqbal, who finished the first day one-under-par (71), played an amazing game on the second day as he struck seven birdies to finish with an aggregate total of eight-under-par (136)
Following him is Pakistan’s number two golfer Muhammad Munir who, after scoring three-under-par (69) on the first day, scored the same on the second to finish with an aggregate score of six-under-par (138).
The next four positions were picked up by players from Karachi Golf Club which included Ahmed Saeed with five-under-par (137), Ali Sher and Afsar Ali scored four-under-par (140) and defending champion Waheed Baloch was five strokes behind from Iqbal ending the second day at three-under-par (141).
The contestants in the senior and junior categories played the final round on Sunday where Imdad Hussain won the senior category with a score of four-under-par (140), followed by Abdul Hameed at par-score (144).
In the junior professional category, Minhaj Maqsood with eight-over-par (152) topped the list followed by Muhammad Asif with 10-over-par (154) in second.
The final round of professionals’ category will be played on Monday.
