ISLAMABAD: Milk production can be increased by seven to eight times by using modern technologies, said Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF) President Mian Zahid Hussain Friday. He said that increased milk production would boost exports of dairy and livestock products and reduce its price in local markets besides providing relief to masses. Pakistan is the fifth largest producer of milk in the world but its production of milk per animal is seven to eight times lower than that of developed countries, said Hussain. He said that latest techniques and government support could boost milk production, making Pakistan a leading producer and exporter of milk. The use of innovative technologies would not only reduce price of milk and beef substantially but would also help country to earn foreign exchange for the country, he added.
