Countdown: First phase of census begins March 14

FAISALABAD: The first phase of population and house census will start in Faisalabad from March 14 for which the population department is taking measures.

A meeting was held to review arrangements on Friday with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Shahid in the chair. Assistant commissioners of all tehsils, including Jaranwala, Tandlianwala, Sammundri and Chak Jhumra, Assistant Census Commissioner Zahoor Ahmed, Assistant Statistical Officer Fazal Elahi, DO Elementary Education Mazhar Warraich and other officers were also present.

The meeting was apprised that a-month-long staff training for census will be held from February 6 to March 6. The control rooms in all the tehsils will be functional from February 1.

The house and population census for nomads and homeless people will be held on March 28.
