KARACHI:

The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (Tuskon) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation.

According to a press release, KCCI President Muhammad Saeed Shafiq and Tuskon Vice President Ahmed Cigar on Monday inked the agreement in Istanbul for promotion of trade and business between Pakistan and Turkey. A KCCI business delegation, led by Shafiq, is currently on a visit to Turkey.

Shafiq focused on the issue of Turkey’s safeguard measures against textile exports from Pakistan and other regional countries, saying these will harshly affect textile exports and Turkey should provide exemptions to Pakistan since they are friendly countries.

He also extended invitation for participation in the ‘My Karachi, Oasis of Harmony’ exhibition to Tuskon members.
