It is common knowledge that Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh and Salman share an on-and-off relationship.

The two have been publicly rooting for one another after burying the hatchet. In an interview to Femina, King Khan spoke about how no one can complete with Salman at the box office while giving his two cents on a range of topics.

Salman Khan and I are brothers: Shah Rukh Khan

"Let’s look at it like this. I can’t compete with Salman Khan at the box office; none of us can. That is the reality," the Raees star said.

When queried on the pay disparity between male and female actors in Bollyood, Shah Rukh spoke about the indelible impact his co-stars Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kajol and Juhi Chawla had left on him. "Madhuri, Juhi and Kajol are such beautiful women and wonderful actors. I’m a star because of them; they’ve taught me all that I know," he said.

"I know women actors work five times harder and get paid 10 times less than men. I attempt to pay them as well as I can in my own productions; I’ve co-produced films with women directors and actors." SRK added.

"I believe I am the change. I always see a story from a woman’s point of view, make sure the woman’s role is meaty." King Khan went on to add.

Talking about Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, he said celebs of their ilk raked in more moolah than their male counterparts. "Today, Deepika and Priyanka take home really good pay packets, more than some heroes. And they deserve it. I don’t know if they take more than Salman or I but they’re celebrated for their worth," SRK said.
