Judge’s murderer: Convict hanged in Adiala jail  

The body of convict Naveed Khan was subsequently handed over to his family

RAWALPINDI: A man convicted of killing two people including a judge of an anti-terrorism court in Gilgit was hanged at Adiala jail on Tuesday.

The body of convict Naveed Khan was subsequently handed over to his family,

Hailing from the Bargo area of Gilgit-Baltistan, Naveed had shot and killed G-B Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Jamshed Khan on June 24, 2006 while the adjudicator was jogging in a public park.

Naveed had been found guilty by the same judge
on seven different charges in a case resolved on May 26, 2006.

A case was registered against Naveed at the City Police Station in Gilgit. Police subsequently arrested Naveed. He was tried in an anti-terror court, which sentenced him to death and fined him Rs300,000.
