He extended this invitation to the boxer through Philippines Ambassador to Pakistan Daniel Ramos Espiritu who met him at CM House on Tuesday.

Lyari is an old area of Karachi and its youth have vast potential in sports, particularly football and boxing, said Shah, adding that the Philippines has the honour to have produced an internationally acclaimed boxer, such as Pacquiao, whose visit to Karachi would definitely encourage Lyari’s young boxers.
Pacquiao will be the state guest of the Sindh government within the next three months and he will visit Lyari, said Espiritu.
Shah presented Sindhi caps, ajraks and CDs of Sindhi music to the visiting diplomat.
Talking business
Meanwhile, Shah also discussed trade, commerce and business matters with the visiting ambassador and said that the fruits of Sindh would find a very good market in Philippines. “Our mango, guava and rice are popular all over the world,” said Shah.

The ambassador who was also accompanied by his business counsel and trade officer said that he would send a team of Pilipino businessmen to discuss the business opportunities in Sindh.
Providing educational opportunities
The chief minister and ambassador Espiritu also agreed to hold a formal meeting of Philippines educationists and secretary university and boards to explore the opportunities of a student exchange programme between the two countries.
