SHABQADAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq criticised the government for issuing the NAB ordinance at midnight, and demanded Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister to take his party’s allies, cabinet and K-P Assembly into confidence regarding his recent visit to China

Siraj said this while addressing a public meeting in Charsadda, where three members of the JUI-F’s Charsadda district cabinet joined his party.

The JI amir said that the government should have shared the NAB ordinance in the parliamentary committee and the Senate before releasing it at midnight. He also lamented that this move showed the dishonest intention of the federal government. He questioned that if the ordinance has been issued then why the parliamentary committee was being summoned and the ordinance was being tabled in the Senate.

Siraj also expressed his concern regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He asked the K-P CM, Pervaiz Khattak to take his cabinet and the provincial assembly into confidence, regarding the discussions he had with the Chinese government during his visit to China in order avoid any conspiracy.

The JI amir also demanded that practical work should be started on the western route of CPEC and the economic zones in K-P because he does not believe in paperwork. He further added that the western route of CPEC should be completed first.

Siraj also regretted the excursion of the Afghan government from the tripartite meeting between Pakistan, China and Russia on Afghanistan. He said, “When these nations are discussing issues of Afghanistan, then the Afghan government must be given its due representation for durable peace in the region. He said that this pick and choose policy was not favourable for anyone.

The senator also demanded that the merger of Fata and K-P should be done at the earliest. He said the JI leadership has rendered many sacrifices for reforms in Fata. He added that all political forces in Pakistan have been demanding an end to the Frontier Crimes Regulations. The JI chief demanded that FCR should be abolished to bring Fata into the mainstream.
