The code of conduct was issued by the varsity’s student adviser, Dr Ghazal Khawaja Hummayun. The notification also stated that anti-social activities in the varsity and use of threats and violence are highly prohibited.

Social media activities of the students must be in accordance with ethical norms and must not provoke regional and sectarian divide and students should refrain from abusing. Smoking and use and sale of ghutka, paan and chalia are also strictly prohibited and will be dealt according to the law if anyone is found involved. There will be no unauthorised use of varsity’s property allowed including transport, stated the notification.
It further added that students must respect the teachers and the non-teaching staff and cooperate with the security staff for ensuring discipline.
Carrying and use of arms or ammunition or explosive material in the premises will strictly be prohibited. All the students have to follow the university’s rules and regulations, including maintaining at least 75% attendance.
Karachi University in financial crunch
Any sort of programme in the varsity will need a five-day prior written permission from the relevant chairperson and department. Students have also been directed to not enter the residential area of the campus.
Students found in violation of the university’s code of conduct will be dealt in accordance with the university’s law, stated the notification.
