LAHORE: For improvement of public health facilities in Punjab, the chief minister has granted approval for buying 14 mobile health units.

The decision was taken during a meeting presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to review different steps on improvement of public health facilities, according to a CM House statement. Six mobile health units are already commissioned, providing quality healthcare services to the people living in remote areas of southern Punjab.

The CM said provision of quality healthcare services to the people was the government’s priority and all-out resources were being utilised. “The Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme for improving healthcare facilities and these mobile units will help provide quality healthcare services to the people at their doorstep,” he said.

Shehbaz said 20 more mobile units would be purchased for diagnostic services and ordered the procurement cell to be run under institutional mechanism at the health department.
