Week-on-week: SPI falls 0.12%  

The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.13%

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended January 5, 2017 registered a decrease of 0.12% for the combined income group, going down from 218.11 points in the previous week to 217.84 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group fell 0.13%. The SPI for the lowest income group also decreased 0.11% compared to the previous week. The index for the group stood at 208.70 points against 208.93 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. During the week, average prices of 16 items rose in a selected basket of goods, prices of nine items fell and rates of remaining 28 goods recorded no change.
