Police kill dacoit in exchange of fire   

Supect who opened fire was wanted in many criminal cases

SUKKUR: The police killed a dacoit, identified as Mir Hassan Jatoi, during an exchange of fire in Bagarji Bello on Wednesday night.

On seeing the Sukkur police, the suspects opened fire at them and tried to escape. After an exchange of fire, the accused was shot dead, while his accomplices managed to escape.

Sukkur SSP Amjad Ahmed Shaikh confirmed the killing of the dacoit and said that the supect was wanted in many criminal cases. According to him, the accused carried a head money of Rs0.5 million.

The SSP added that the police have launched a three-pronged operation against the criminals. The police of three districts, Sukkur, Shikarpur and Khairpur, are carrying out operations in their respective katcha areas to eliminate the criminals once and for all, he said.
