Complying with SC orders: Sindh police recruits to be re-examined

Re-examination committee to conduct eligibility tests of candidates who were recruited in the police improperly

Re-examination tests of candidates recruited in Sindh police as constables through irregular recruitment process will be conducted, said a press release issued by the Central Police Office on Tuesday.

Based on Supreme Court orders, Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja constituted a centralised re-examination committee, which will be headed by additional Counter-Terrorism Department IG Sanaullah Abbasi, to conduct eligibility tests of candidates who were recruited in the Sindh police as constables through irregular recruitment process during 2012 and 2015, said the press release.

"These candidates were dismissed or discharged from service on inquiry conducted by a team of senior officers against illegal recruitments in Sindh police during 2012 [and] 2015," said the press release. "The re-examination tests will include all tests taken during current general recruitment [of] 2016, including physical tests and written test through [National Testing Service] NTS."

Nevertheless, the candidates' age will be determined on the basis of the cut-off date when they were actually recruited. Exemption of running test will be given to those who were injured or suffering from any medical problem during their previous service in Sindh police. The committee will complete its task within three months, added the press release.
