K-P crumble as Sindh clinch emphatic victory

Sami, Kaneria grab four wickets each in Pentangular Cup.

Sindh bowlers dominated the third day to bundle out Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) for 135 to emphatically win by an innings and 110 runs in the Pentangular Cup.


Mohammad Sami and Danish Kaneria spearheaded the Sindh attack, after posting a mammoth 461 in the first innings, grabbing four wickets each to bundle out their opposition with ease. Aftab Alam, the only successful batsman for K-P, fell prey to Sami after making 45 runs.

Earlier, Faisal Iqbal and Fawad Alam made 118 and 108, respectively, to guide Sindh to a challenging total with Ramiz Raja (64), Hasan Raza (72) and Sarfaraz Ahmed (50*) supporting the team with their half-centuries.

Balochistan-Punjab evenly poised

Balochistan closed the third day of the match with 145 for two after Punjab were bowled all out at 303 in their second innings. Resuming their evenly poised match at 215 for four, Punjab batsmen Imran Farhat (128) was sent packing by Mohammad Irfan who grabbed a brace for Balochistan. However, Zulfikar Babar was the most successful Balochistan bolwer with figures of four for 76.

Balochistan replied firmly through Shoaib Khan’s 84-run knock before he was sent back by Asad Ali. Punjab’s first innings hero Mohammad Khalil (eight for 38), grabbed the second wicket, dismissing opener Zain Abbas at 12.

Close saw Saeed Anwar at 31* and Rameez Alam at four*.
