Head-on collision: Three burnt alive as cylinder explodes in road accident

At least three people were burnt alive while 20 others, including women and children, were injured when two vehicles caught fire after a cylinder explosion some 30 kilometres from Sheikhupura on Monday.

Rescue 1122 officials said a bus travelling to Khanqah Dogran collided with a passenger van. In the meantime, a car hit the van from the back and the gas cylinders that were placed under the back seat exploded.


As a result, the van and the car caught fire resulting in three casualties, while 20 people were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

The doctors at the hospital said the condition of six people was critical but efforts were being taken to save their lives. Rescue officials maintained the majority of the injured were women and children. Soon after the incident, police and local administration officials reached the hospital and inquired about the injured and the victims.
