ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board has decided to enhance floor area ratio (FAR) charges from 10 per cent to 50 per cent for commercial and residential buildings. The move appears to be an effort to regularise illegal additions to approved layout plans. The board members met at CDA headquarters on Friday. In January 2012, the CDA board also floated a decision regarding the enhancement of FAR charges to Rs956 per square foot for market areas and Rs361 per square foot for Industry and Trade Centres with ground-plus-one building plans. Board members also decided to allot a six kanal plot behind the National Library to the office of the Attorney General of Pakistan, and to enhance stipends for under-training postgraduate residents and house officers, effective from January 1, 2017.
