Dawood Global Foundation President Tara Uzra Dawood represented Pakistan at the Lean In global leaders’ conference in Silicon Valley, California on the invitation of Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg.

Lean in Pakistan powered by LADIESFUND was launched in January 2016 with a circle of almost 200 dynamic women from across the country, meeting for networking, professional friendships and to support one another in their career advancement.

Sheryl, author of Lean In books and founder of the Lean In movement, wrote about the launch of Lean In Pakistan on her Facebook page and then invited Tara for the annual gathering as well as for dinner at her home.

“It was such an honour and privilege for Lean In Pakistan to be highlighted by Sheryl and then to receive a personal invitation to her home for dinner was a very special experience,” said Tara in a statement. “We look forward to forming 100 circles in Pakistan, building on several that have started this past year, and to invite several members of the global Lean In community – both leaders and partners – to come to Pakistan and join us in this journey.”
