The broadband service of Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd (PTCL) faced a major breakdown due to a technical fault on Monday.
“We are currently facing major outage on our network due to which internet service to some of our customers is impacted,” said a statement on the service’s twitter account.
“Our teams are working on-ground to restore the service as soon as possible. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused,” it added.
The disruption in the cellular services came soon after PTCL fiber optic system developed some technical faults, Express News reported.
Karachi, Islamabad, Multan and Peshawar are among other cities where landline phone, internet and mobile phone services are disrupted. Moreover, a number of cellphone companies are also facing partial interruption in their services.
“Due to PTCL’s fiber optic cut, currently Ufone’s services are disrupted. We apologise for the inconvenience caused in this regard,” said Ufone on its Facebook post.
Besides the internet, landline services were also reportedly disrupted in large parts of the country.
People also reported on twitter that the Ufone cellular service was also disrupted in various parts of the country.
Here’s how they reacted.
However, PTCL in its latest tweet said that its cellular services are being restored.
