PTI to expose govt ‘performance’
Mehmoodur Rasheed announced on that the annual performance report would unveil corruption in development projects
LAHORE:
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has prepared a detailed report on the ‘wrongdoings of the provincial government’ that will be released on January 1.
Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mehmoodur Rasheed announced on Sunday that the ‘annual performance report’ would unveil corruption in development projects.
“The report will highlight how rulers deceive public in health, education, clean drinking water, law and order and other social sectors,” Rasheed said, adding it would present the complete picture to the masses about unequal distribution of resources.
“People of southern Punjab are continuously being ignored by the government,” he said. “The government is denying basic facilities to them and creating hatred for central Punjab among them.”
The PTI leader claimed the government had allocated Rs162 billion for the provincial population of 100 million while Rs220 billion alone were to be spent on the Lahore Metro’s Orange Line project that would benefit about 250,000 people. “People of Punjab will have to pay mark-up for the next 27 years as the metro train project is being built with Chinese loans,” he added.
