Economic rights: Land records to be computerised on modern lines

Assistant commissioners and officials of the computerised land record centres to mobilise available resources

BAHAWALPUR: The land record management system has been evolved on modern scientific lines to protect the economic rights of land owners, said Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar.

He was presiding over a meeting of revenue officials of three districts of Bahawalpur Division through a video link at the commissioner office on Saturday.

He directed all assistant commissioners and officials of the computerised land record centres to mobilise available resources to resolve cases pertaining to land transfer, cases of missing record of land and cases of assigned share of revenue.

“The revenue officers should take immediate measures to rectify the revenue record to protect the economic rights of the land owners,” he said.

Around 3,894 cases of land transfer, 221 cases of share of revenue and 481 cases of missing record of land transfer were resolved during the last two months in three districts of Bahawalpur.

Similarly, around 246 cases of assigned share of revenue, 2,823 cases of land transfer and 634 cases of missing record of land transfer in Rahim Yar Khan district were resolved.

DCO Bahawalpur Dr Ehtasham Anwar Mahar, DCO Bahawalnagar Azhar Hayat, Additional District Collector Rahim Yar Khan Jameel Ahmad, Additional Commissioner Consolidation Saqib Ali Ateel attended the meeting.
