KARACHI: Hours ahead of Asif Zardari’s arrival, Rangers raided the offices of his close aide, businessman Anwar Majid, in Karachi, confiscating records and detaining five staff members. Weapons were also recovered during the raids.

The paramilitary force confirmed the raids and arrests in a press release, saying that an intelligence-based raid on a company’s offices at II Chundrigar Road and Hockey Stadium was carried out. “Five people were rounded up and a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also seized from the premises,” it added.
