The letter was shared with IANS by the publicist of Grover's upcoming film Coffee with D, which revolves around a journalist's attempt to schedule an interview with Ibrahim and how he manages to do that in the end. The movie is directed by Vishal Mishra.

In the letter, Grover, best known for his stint on The Kapil Sharma Show, acknowledged that the trial will take some time. But he wants people to have a platform where they can "ask a thousand questions" and watch Ibrahim "own up to his despicable deeds."
In what seems like an obvious publicity stunt, the letter starts with Grover praising Modi for his vision and lauding the steps he has taken, be it the Make in India initiative, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or more recently, the demonetisation move. He also makes glowing references to the surgical strikes.

However, he said it would be amateurish to expect Ibrahim's case to be resolved overnight. "An extensive interview with the most wanted man of the world is what we desire, a small chat over a cup of coffee is what we will settle for," Grover added.
